Corel Digital Studio 2010

Dec 04

I have wanted photo editing software for quite a while and recently I got the chance to try one out- Corel Digital Studio 2010.  You can edit photos, video, play back on your computer and burn cds and dvds, all with 4 different features:

PaintShop Photo Express lets you quick fix photos and crop, rotate, sharpen, remove red eye, adjust brightness, make photo books, slideshows, calendars, collages, cards, and e-mail photos, put them on dvd, or upload to Facebook or Flickr.

VideoStudio Express again uses quick cut to view and trim your videos, correct brightness, improve shaky video, turn video clips into movies using templates with menus, soundtracks, transitions, and titles.  You can also edit, burn and share high definition video clips.

WinDVD uses Dolby Digital audio support and playback for dvds and video files and can be watched with DVD-Video, QuickTime, Windows, Media, M2T, M2TS in either standard or high definition.  You can also bookmark your favorite scenes!

DVD Factory enables you to back up photos, videos and music on cds or dvds.  You can choose a professional style and add chapters, music and photos to each dvd.  Another feature is that it enables you to copy media to your iPod, PSP, and mobile phone and upload to YouTube, Facebook, and Flickr.

System Requirements for this software are:

  • Intel® Core™ Duo T2400 1.83 GHz, AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 3800+ 2.0 GHz or higher recommended
  • Microsoft® Windows® 7, Windows Vista®, or Windows® XP, with latest service packs installed
  • 1 GB of RAM (2 GB or higher recommended)
  • 128 MB VGA VRAM or higher (256 MB recommended)
  • 4 GB of free hard drive space
  • Minimum display resolution: 1024 x 768
  • Windows® compatible sound card
  • Windows® compatible DVD-ROM for installation
  • Recordable DVD drive required for creating DVDs
  • Internet connection required for online features

You can purchase Corel Digital Studio 2010 for $99.99 online, but right now it is only $79.99! If you want to try it out first, you can get a FREE 30 day trial at Corel.

I have really enjoyed using this program and I’m still learning.  I plan on making photo books to give for gifts and maybe I’ll eventually get around to making a video someday.  It is pretty easy to use, especially considering I have never used photo editing software before.  I love all the different things you can do.  It is recommended for beginners–which applies to me.  I would definitely recommend this product!

‘I received a sample from Corel to facilitate my review and I was not compensated in any other way.  This is my honest opinion only.’

Thanks for the entry. I almost passed your site up in Ask but now I’m glad I stopped by and got to go through it. I’m definitely a little better informed now. I’ll be sharing your site with some other people I know. They’ll definitely get a kick out of what I just read too. LOL. –Jake
