Kellogg’s Cereal Now With Fiber

We eat cereal almost daily.  It is one of the quickest and best tasting ways to start the day and now that Kellogg’s has added fiber to Froot Loops and Apple Jacks, it’s better for your body also.  Fiber is essential for keeping our digestive system working well, helps our heart, and may even help reduce the risk of diabetes.  According to our age, we need between 19-21 grams of fiber a day.  How do you tell if food is a good or excellent source of fiber?  If it has at least 2.5g of fiber per serving it is considered a good source of fiber and if it has 5g or more it’s considered an excellent source of fiber.

Both Froot Loops and Apple Jacks have 3g of dietary fiber per serving.  You can view the nutrition label and find recipes for both by clicking on each link. We received Froot Loops, one with and one without fiber and Apple Jacks with fiber to try out.  You can’t tell any difference in the Froot Loops with or without fiber, it tastes the same.  Of course, they taste good and it’s a good way to get kids to eat fiber without them knowing it.  I prefer the Froot Loops myself.  Kudos to Kellogg’s for making their products better for you.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Kellogg’s and received boxes of Froot Loops and Apple Jacks and a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
